For the second year in a row, LA-based acting coach, Crystal Carson will bring her Auditioning By Heart three day intensive workshop to Dublin.
The much sought after acting coach will be bringing her ‘Let Go Of The Lines’ and ‘Live the Life’ practice to The LAB, May 17-19 in Dublin, before she then continues on to London. Students will have the chance to learn this game-changing approach used by actors in Hollywood.
When asked why she is returning to Ireland for another year, Carson said: “In my experience, Irish actors have the heart and pathos to more easily tap into the vulnerability of a character than any other group of actors I’ve worked with. They take to my technique like a sponge, and their work, especially in terms of their auditions, changes phenomenally as a result.”
Carson is particularly skilled at accommodating actors’ individual methods. She is able to guide actor’s utilising their emotional, intellectual, and spiritual sensibilities to generate a character’s life. Through this approach, each actor’s unique, quirky, multi-faceted personality surfaces through the character in unpredictable yet appropriate ways.
This on-camera classes will teach professional actors how to organically prepare for film and television auditions within a short time-frame. Actors receive new sides prior to each class and “Critiqued Actors” are put on tape daily. Auditioning by Heart is a deep exploration of how to create a character’s life from the truth through history homework. It is practical, not theoretical, and aims to equip you with all the skills and expertise you need to become dynamic and courageous at your auditions. The training is very much student-centered – giving time for individual attention. Crystal will provide thorough, personalised critiques for each actor’s performance daily.
