Irish Abroad: Mark Noonan’s You’re Ugly Too secures 5 new distribution deals

German sales Picture Tree International had a busy time at the recent American Film Market, signing distribution contracts for a number of films. One of those is Mark Noonan’s You’re Ugly Too, which secured deals that will see the film releases in South Korea (via Cine Blooming), Israel (via DBS), Turkey (via Bir Film), Denmark (via Angel Film), and Chlorofilm (via Romania).

You’re Ugly Too tells the story of Will, a man newly released from prison on compassionate leave to care for his orphaned niece, Stacey. Journeying to the Irish mid-lands, the two attempt to set-up home and start a new life. Unfortunately Will’s efforts at being a father figure prove disastrous as he desperately tries to avoid finding himself back in prison and Stacey does her best to understand what’s going on without letting her guard slip.

The multi-award-winning film features acclaimed performances from Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) and newcomer Lauren Kinsella (Albert Nobbs). You’re Ugly Too was produced by John Keville and Conor Barry for Savage Productions and was filmed in counties Dublin and Offaly. The film was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

You’re Ugly Too is currently available to rent or buy on DVD nationwide from retailers (HMV/Xtravision, Tesco, Tower Records, Golden Discs, IFI Store) or online via elementpictures.ie, and On Demand from Volta, iTunes, and Virgin Media.
