Submissions are now open for the 2015 Fingal Film Festival, the fourth annual version of the festival, which will take place during the month of September at a venue to be confirmed in the coming months.

The Festival team are preparing for what promises to be the best year so far with bigger awards, a host of amazing guest speakers and other surprises that will be announced as the team roll out its full schedule in the coming months.

Speaking on the opening of the submission process Liz Kenny, the Festivals Managing Director, said “Last year we had the most successful festival since its inception, seeing bigger screen and workshop attendances, proving that the Fingal Film Festival is the best Independent Festival to have your work seen by large audiences. This year will see a similar event structure to previous years, but with a few new surprises. The team are working hard to give Independent Filmmakers a whole new Film Festival experience this year and promises to make 2015 a year to remember.”

Dave Byrne, Creative Director said “The standard of films from emerging Irish Filmmakers last year was amazing, we hope that trend continues into 2015. We are doing a lot of other work behind the scenes to ensure the films of emerging filmmakers are viewed by a wider audience, beyond the festival programme. We hope to be in a position to announce these plans in the coming months, as it is our main objective to be a voice for emerging talent on the National and International landscape, promoting emerging talent, enabling them to build their profile.

For those that missed last years festival a selection of winning and shortlisted films will play as part of the Fingal Film Roadshow, which will stop at various Art House venues in Ireland later this year, beginning in Rua Red on March 6th.
